Is there any nightlife?

Gulmarg is home to one of the quirkiest après scenes in the world! There are a few bars to choose from and there are always parties happening. We have been to winter Olympics opening ceremony parties, bonfires with people hucking off kickers, ice hockey games and even a party in an igloo that was large enough to fit 27 people inside at once!!  We will keep you informed about what is going down.

Is the political situation safe?

The situation is Kashmir is a constantly evolving issue that has been a source of tension for decades. It is recommended that you check the travel advisory of your country before making your decision to travel. Despite many governments recommending travellers to “reconsider your need to travel” and many newspapers reporting negatively on the relationship between Pakistan and India, especially over the issue of Kashmir, we have found that the local people are happy to have foreigners visit their homeland. There are many places that are more dangerous than our home countries, sometimes you need to experience these locations for yourself and enjoy the adventure. *Risk vs reward is solely your decision.
